Richard Green Ecology are working for RPS and Costain to design and oversee the implementation of bat mitigation measures on the A465 Heads of the Valleys Section 2 Improvement Scheme.
Chris Worker, Welsh Government Nature Conservation Policy Officer, recently visited the site to view the bat mitigation measures, which include a bat house, bat culverts under the road, woodland planting for bat foraging and temporary bat flight line measures.
Chris was “happy to observe that the scheme is not only where it should be in terms of meeting requirements for nature conservation, but that outcomes may be developing above the baseline requirement“. He thanked the team for getting to this point, whilst encouraging them to build on this promising start.
