Following our unfortunate first course on great crested newt ecology and survey in March that coincided with the ‘Beast from the East’, when no newts were seen, last night and this morning we saw lots of newts, including both sexes of all three native species. Course delegates were very pleased, and for some it was the first time they had seen great crested and smooth newts. We were also relieved that we saw newts, who all performed brilliantly! Have a look at a short clip here.
We do not have any more GCN courses planned for this spring but if there is enough demand we could squeeze another one in. If you are interested in attending such a course this year, please let us know ASAP and we will confirm when we have enough interest.
