Richard and Will recently attended a NPMS training day on identification of grasses, sedges and rushes at Knowstone Moor, a Devon Wildlife Trust culm grassland reserve. The event was excellent and the sun shone all day! As well as grasses, sedges and rushes, other things seen of interest included marsh fritillary butterfly, a harvest mouse nest and two insectiverous plants, pale butterwort and broad-leaved sundew, of which there is a photo below.
